The UConn's Huskies' bid for a historic March Madness three-peat is over following a 77-75 defeat at the hands of the Florida Gators. The reigning champion (24-11) has been sent packing in the second round of this year's NCAA Tournament, where the No. 1 seed Gators (32-4) ended their hopes of winning three straight championships in a thrilling encounter on Sunday afternoon. Dan Hurley's No. 8 seed would have become the first men's team to pull off a three-peat since UCLA's run of seven straight titles in the 1960s and 70s had they gone all the way again in 2025.
