Leading jockey Jamie Kah has shaken off a bloodied and broken nose form an earlier race to claim victory in the Victoria Derby Stewards withdrew Kah's Group 2 Wakeful Stakes mount Hurry Curry from race five after the horse reared back and struck the jockey in the head. Kah, bleeding profusely, was temporarily stood down before she received approval from her doctor to race in the Derby. Her joy could be short lived, though.
