Manchester United have confirmed that Ruud Van Nistelrooy has left the club after holding talks with new head coach Ruben Amorim on Monday. The club legend oversaw an unbeaten four game run as interim boss since replacing Erik ten Hag and admitted he was keen to stay on in a role following Sunday's 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester. Van Nistelrooy returned to Old Trafford in the summer after being convinced by former boss Erik ten Hag to take up an assistant role and later replacing his fellow countryman on a temporary basis before Amorim's arrival.
