When an injury-ravaged Scotland battled their way to a goalless draw against Ukraine in Poland to seal promotion to Nations League A, the Tartan Army celebrated long into the night. That the achievement arrived at the same time as England headed the other way, down into the second tier, added a sheen of schadenfreude to Scottish glee. Two years on, however, and the old adage of 'be careful what you wish for' might have entered the minds of one or two given how Scotland's passage through the top division has played out so far.
