Liam Lawson was confirmed as Max Verstappen's team mate at Red Bull for the 2025 season on Thursday morning. Team principal Christian Horner hailed the 22-year-old New Zealander as a 'real racer', while the driver himself admitted that prospect of competing alongside the four-time world champion Verstappen is a 'daunting task'. Lawson should be aware of the perils of being the Dutchman's wing man, Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and now Sergio Perez have all failed to make the cut.
