Myanmar earthquake latest: State of emergency declared as dozens trapped in collapsed buildings
Powerful earthquakes have struck in Myanmar sparking fears of mass casualties as tremors caused buildings to collapse and roads to buckle. Thousands of people are feared dead after quakes of 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude were recorded in quick succession on Friday afternoon with shocks felt in neighbouring Thailand and China. The earthquake's epicentre was located 16km (10 miles) north-west of the city of Sagaing at a depth of 10km and is close to the country's second largest city Mandalay.
